Bitcoin Shorts Account for $13.16 Million in One Hour of Liquidations

Bitcoin (BTC) short positions accounted for $13.16 million in liquidations during the hour ending 10:55 a.m. ET (14:55 UTC) Oct. 15. The combined figure for Binance, Bybit and OKX was $15.13 million, including $1.97 million in long liquidations and $13.16 million in short liquidations. Short-side liquidations made up the larger share of the total. Bitcoin's price rose from $79,869 at the start of the same hour to $81,873 at its end, a $2,004 increase and a 2.51% gain. Both the price change and liquidation totals refer to the one-hour window ending at 10:55 a.m. ET.
