Bitcoin (BTC) Account Reverses From $3.018 Million Short to $558,000 Net Long

A cryptocurrency derivatives account moved from about $3.018 million net short in Bitcoin (BTC) to roughly $558,000 net long in 36 minutes on Friday, Oct. 16, as it closed and opened positions on both sides of the market. The shift ran from 10:16 to 10:52 a.m. ET (14:16 to 14:52 UTC). During that span, the account unwound about $3.427 million in short exposure and $16,000 in long exposure. It also opened roughly $574,000 in long positions and $406,000 in short positions during the same period. The closing activity resulted in a loss of about $7,359.
