Bhutan Gives Gelephu Regulator Central Bank Powers Over Reserves

Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck signed a royal decree granting the Gelephu Central Bank authority over monetary policy and reserve management. Decisions on reserve composition, size and management will require policies addressing risk, custody, liquidity and accountability.
