Arkansas has filed an illegal gambling lawsuit against Kalshi , accusing the federally regulated prediction market of bypassing state restrictions on casinos and sports betting. Attorney General Tim Griffin is seeking restitution and a ruling that the company violated the state’s deceptive trade practices act. The complaint describes Kalshi as a “pocket-sized bookie” and alleges it lets people as young as 18 stake real money on sports and entertainment outcomes. Arkansas also alleges that the platform’s gambling operations cause mental harm.
