Apple plans a three-year commitment of up to $100 million with Perryman Company, adding a Pennsylvania titanium supplier for products including the iPhone Duo as it expands U.S. manufacturing. At its Houston, Pennsylvania, facility, Perryman melts, forges and rolls grade 5 titanium used for the Duo. The material has at least 80% recycled content. Apple’s announcement did not give a production target or ramp-up date for Perryman’s work. “American ingenuity is vital to all our products,” Apple Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan said. Apple is also expanding U.S. camera-component work with Delaware-based Qnity Electronics.
