Anthropic flags natural gas supply as a risk to its data center buildout

The AI company's S-1 filing warns that uncapped gas costs and tight pipeline capacity could delay or derail its data center buildout Anthropic wants to build a lot of data centers. It also wants investors to know the fuel for those data centers is not guaranteed. In an S-1 filing with the SEC dated October 26, 2026, the AI company warned that natural gas supply and pricing pose real risks to its expansion plans. An S-1 is the registration document a company files with the SEC ahead of a public offering.
