Anchorpoint CEO Declines to Confirm Retail Stablecoin Launch Date

Anchorpoint Financial CEO Dominic Maffei declined Friday, Oct. 23, to confirm a retail launch date for its Hong Kong dollar-backed stablecoin, while rival HSBC launched its own token through PayMe. Anchorpoint had earlier indicated that retail access to HKDAP could arrive as early as the end of 2026. Maffei did not reaffirm that timing at a Friday press conference. “We believe it’s important to build the market out in a long-term, sustainable manner,” Maffei said. He added that rushing a launch “does not make sense.” Anchorpoint released an institutional stablecoin product in August.
