CZ Responds to BNB Chain Plan for a New L1 Using BNB

BNB Chain plans a new Layer 1 network alongside BNB Smart Chain, with BNB serving as its fee, staking and governance token and a testnet targeted by the end of 2026. CZ responded to a post about the proposal with “Multiple chains, one coin.” The planned network would not issue its own token. BNB would cover fees and be used for staking and governance. The new network would coexist with BNB Smart Chain (BSC) and connect to it through a native cross-chain bridge. BNB Chain is targeting blocks every 200 milliseconds and transaction pre-confirmations in about 20 milliseconds.
