Algorand (ALGO) Pauses xGov Program, Focuses on Post-Quantum Security

Algorand (ALGO) has announced significant updates to its community initiatives and strategic direction, emphasizing its commitment to post-quantum security and a sustainable network model. These changes include the indefinite suspension of the xGov program, adjustments to advisory councils, and a reaffirmation of staking rewards through January 2028. The xGov program, which brought together community members for proposal submissions, voting, and discussions, will be paused indefinitely starting December 6, 2026. The Algorand Forum, primarily used for xGov-related discussions, will also close on November 6, 2026, with a read-only archive made available.
