47% of Surveyed U.S. Workers Said They Had Abruptly Quit Jobs

A March 2025 survey of 3,600 U.S. workers employed full or part time found that 47% had abruptly left a job to express dissatisfaction. Toxic workplaces and poor management were among the most common reasons listed. The result does not specify when those departures happened. It therefore does not show how many workers quit during 2025 or how often abrupt exits are happening now. The finding describes the surveyed group and does not establish the same share among all U.S. workers.
