1Password Adds User Approval Before AI Agents Use Saved Logins

1Password announced the service Oct. 22, saying supported AI agents can request credentials saved in a user’s vault. The user can review a credential request on their device and approve or deny it. Once approved, 1Password fills the login into the destination site’s sign-in form, without giving the agent the password or one-time code. Each connected agent has its own digital key for identification, and linking an agent does not give it access to the entire vault. After signing in, an agent may still view information or take actions within that account, depending on the agent and website.
