Sahara Las Vegas has become the first casino on the Las Vegas Strip to offer regulated, cryptocurrency-funded play through its main cage, allowing guests to convert Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin into USD chips or slot tickets. Patrons are not wagering cryptocurrency directly; digital assets are converted into U.S. dollars at the cage before play begins. The 74-year-old north-Strip resort announced the rollout in partnership with crypto-payments processor BurraPay, which previously launched a similar system at Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas. The Nevada Gaming Control Board approved BurraPay’s system earlier this year.
