Zelenskyy Says Ukraine Will Restart Attacks on Russian Refineries

Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian refineries after Moscow failed to honor a proposed pause, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, bringing energy-market uncertainty back into focus for investors. Zelenskyy said Kyiv halted attacks and retaliation for three days at Washington’s request. Russia then launched an assault on Ukrainian energy infrastructure that included about 40 ballistic missiles, he said. Zelenskyy said he had warned U.S. officials that Moscow would violate the pause. President Donald Trump announced the proposed “energy ceasefire” Sunday to stop both countries from attacking power facilities and reduce oil and diesel prices ahead of next month’s U.S. midterm elections.
