Zcash Draft Seeks to Redirect 8% Block Subsidy From Grants to NSM Reserve

Zcash co-founder Sean Bowe has proposed ending the automatic funding stream for Zcash Community Grants and redirecting its 8% share of the block subsidy to the Network Sustainability Mechanism. The draft ZIP , created October 26, remains unassigned and in Draft status. The proposal would redirect future subsidy allocations without seizing ZCG’s existing treasury , adding another chapter to debates around Zcash’s privacy-focused network . The draft says ZCG holds 91,452.98 ZEC and $8.8 million in cash, with $2.4 million in outstanding grant liabilities.
