Giving an artificial intelligence (AI) agent access to your bitcoin, stablecoin or other crypto asset wallet might cost you in an unexpected way. If the agent thinks you’re wealthy, it might upsell you. Similarly, access to your other financial information could work against you. There are trivial ways to reduce this risk: don’t give the agent access to this information, or use specific numbers in your requests. A new study of 13 AI models found that AI agents suggested pricier options to users they believed were wealthy, even when those users asked for the cheapest option.
