XRPL experiences transaction slowdown, Ripple CTO cites resilience limits

A recent technical issue on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) led to a noticeable drop in transaction processing speed, sparking renewed scrutiny of the blockchain’s underlying architecture. David Schwartz, Ripple ’s Chief Technology Officer and principal architect of the XRP Ledger, addressed community concerns by outlining the system’s vulnerabilities and giving detailed explanations about its core resilience mechanisms. Trouble began when the XRP Ledger Operations team detected an anomaly: the network’s ledgers were closing much slower than their normal pace. This slowdown raised suspicions among users over the network’s ability to handle disruptions without compromising reliability.
