West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell below $100 a barrel Thursday, down 1.23% intraday, while spot gold rose in a short-term move. The two commodities moved in opposite directions. In an earlier move, WTI climbed 2% to $99.37 a barrel as it neared the same threshold. The earlier WTI move provides context for Thursday's decline.
