Democrats are projected to win control of the US House of Representatives after strong results in Tuesday’s midterm elections, the BBC reported. With 247 of 435 House seats counted, Democrats had won 152 and Republicans 95, according to the BBC’s tally. In the Senate, Democrats held 50 seats, including those not up for election, against 38 for Republicans, with 23 of 35 contested races counted. One of the biggest upsets came in Texas, where Democrat James Talarico won a Senate seat, the party’s first in the state in decades, the BBC said.
