WEC Energy Group plans $47.5 billion in capital spending from 2027 through 2031 as it forecasts 4.9 gigawatts of additional electricity demand, led by the 3,200-megawatt “Microsoft/SE WI” and 1,300-megawatt Oracle allocations. The plan is $10 billion above WEC’s $37.5 billion spending plan for 2026 through 2030. The two five-year plans cover different periods, so the comparison does not represent a $10 billion increase over the same years. WEC projects compound annual earnings-per-share growth of 7% to 9%+ and a 13.4% compound annual growth rate in its asset base from 2027 through 2031.
