Bitcoin’s U.S. price discount and a rise in equity-market volatility point to caution despite increased institutional trading activity. Higher turnover alone offers no clear signal of stronger buying demand. Bitcoin continued to trade below overseas prices on Coinbase as institutional volume increased. The discount and heightened market volatility complicate any reading of that activity as a recovery in U.S. demand. The Coinbase premium, which measures the price gap between U.S. and overseas markets, closed at -0.16% on November 1, -0.18% on November 2, -0.15% on November 3, -0.09% on November 4 and -0.16% on November 5.
