Volvo Cars said on 15 October 2026 that it is expanding its partnership with NVIDIA to develop safer automated-driving technology for future vehicles, extending a collaboration that the company said began in 2017. The announcement said the technology is intended to support door-to-door navigation in complex environments, including highways, busy urban streets and parking scenarios, and will debut in a next-generation Volvo car. In the joint announcement, Volvo Cars said the system will combine its vehicle-safety expertise with NVIDIA's AI and accelerated-computing stack, including the Hyperion sensor and compute architecture, Halos OS and Alpamayo Stack driving software.
