Vitalik Buterin Suggests a New Approach to Ethereum Cryptography

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has proposed a new way to handle complex cryptographic calculations without putting extra pressure on Ethereum’s main network. His proposal, EIP-8288, would allow users to perform these calculations on their own devices, such as smartphones and computers, then send the network a small proof that the results are correct. This could reduce the amount of data Ethereum needs to process while making it easier for developers to use different types of cryptography. Buterin’s idea is based on the view that Ethereum should not have to process every piece of data or repeat every calculation itself.
