Vertex Introduces Sōl to Link Tax Decisions With Audit Records

Vertex introduced Sōl on Oct. 26 as a framework for linking tax determinations with invoicing, regulatory reporting and audit documentation. Vertex Intelligence, the experience’s AI component, is intended to provide regulatory information, explanations and recommendations. Businesses can set whether AI recommends an action, assists with tax work or acts within controls the business establishes. Stated uses include assessing regulatory changes, surfacing issues before filing and organizing evidence after an auditor requests records. The design links a tax decision with its supporting material across multiple stages. The announcement did not identify Sōl customers or provide measured results.
