Voters have overwhelmingly approved 43 out of 44 local ballot measures aimed at restricting data centers, with many securing over 70% support. The measures, which include bans, moratoriums, and power-use limits, reflect a growing resistance to data-center expansion across the United States. Ohio was notably prominent among the states with such measures, alongside Maine, Kansas, Wisconsin, and North Dakota. While most measures were against data center expansion, a single measure in North Dakota favored development, standing as an exception to this trend.
