The US Treasury imposed sanctions on MEXC Global on November 6, 2026, cutting the virtual currency exchanger off from the US financial system. Its Financial Crimes Enforcement Network issued the order over alleged transactions tied to sanctions evasion involving Iran, North Korea and Russia. The restriction targets the exchange’s access to US financial institutions. FinCEN , the Treasury’s anti-money laundering unit, said those institutions are barred from processing transfers of funds involving MEXC Global.
