U.S. Agencies Urge THORNode Operators to Block Binance Hack Funds

The FBI, U.S. Secret Service and IRS Criminal Investigation asked THORNode operators and other crypto firms to block transfers tied to the theft of more than $6 billion from Binance. In an Oct. 31 alert, the FBI named North Korea’s TraderTraitor operation as responsible for the theft, which took place on or about Oct. 29. The request also covered RPC node operators, instant-swap services, decentralized finance providers, blockchain analytics firms and other virtual-asset businesses. It set no deadline and described no court order.
