In a recent statement, US President Donald Trump expressed high praise for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth when questioned about the possibility of replacing him. This public endorsement came amidst reports suggesting Trump had consulted advisers on whether Hegseth should remain in his position following the Republicans’ midterm election losses. Despite these discussions, Trump’s remarks may imply continued support for Hegseth, countering rumors of his potential removal and the consideration of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a successor. Watch for any further statements from Trump or the White House regarding Hegseth’s position.
