Troves Estimates About 8.6 BTC Lost in xWBTC/WBTC Vault Exploit

Troves, a platform that automates decentralized finance strategies on Starknet, said an exploit of its xWBTC/WBTC vault on Saturday, Oct. 31, caused a preliminary loss of about 8.6 Bitcoin (BTC), prompting it to pause three vaults. Troves linked the incident to an older rebalancing contract that retained access after it was replaced. The team said it revoked the older contract’s access within about 40 minutes of discovering the exploit and removed all rebalancing permissions from its LST vaults. Troves said it had not found an impact on any other vault as of its update.
