Tether has frozen more than 7 billion USDT across secondary-market addresses, while its work with U.S. authorities has covered more than 3,590 wallets involving about 1.6 billion USDT as of Oct. 31. The authorities involved were the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Secret Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The figures measure Tether’s total freezes across secondary-market addresses and its cooperation on agency-linked wallet freezes. Separately, Tether froze more than $1.5 billion in USDT within 30 minutes after the Oct. 29 Binance hack. The freeze prevented the related funds from being transferred, exchanged or laundered.
