Tempus AI shares rose 6.2%, while four semiconductor companies posted smaller gains and the company unexpectedly turned a profit in the third quarter. Nvidia gained 1.5%, Texas Instruments rose 1.9% and Qualcomm added 2.6%. SK Hynix advanced 3.3%, the largest increase among those four chip stocks.
