Taiwan plans to begin development procedures in 2027 for a planned new park in the Tainan Science Park system to prepare for a future one-nanometer fab, National Science and Technology Council Chairman 吳誠文 said Monday, Nov. 2. The plan was outlined at the 2026 IEEE Asian Solid-State Circuits Conference. In the reported remarks, 吳誠文 did not name TSMC as the operator of a future fab. More advanced production will require further process advances, along with land, electricity, water and supply-chain support, he said. The planning comes as TSMC’s two-nanometer process enters mass production.
