Synaptics introduced three Astra SR200 processors on Oct. 20, combining its Torq AI engine with Google Research’s Coral NPU architecture for devices that process voice, images and sensor data locally. The target products include wearables, connected cameras and industrial systems. The processors are designed to handle those tasks on the device instead of sending each request to a remote server. The SR210 is rated at 200 billion operations per second (GOPS) for always-on voice and sensing. The SR230 reaches 300 GOPS and adds vision and display support, while the SR250 is rated at 400 GOPS for more demanding workloads.
