Synack CEO Jay Kaplan said artificial intelligence can amplify attackers’ expertise as South Korean investigators review breaches across 16 financial companies and assess whether any involved the technology. South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC), the country’s financial regulator, reported Oct. 14 that 16 financial companies had recently experienced data breaches, affecting an estimated 100,000 pieces of customer data. The estimate counts pieces of data, not people. By that date, no reported breach involved account passwords or credit card numbers.
