Survey Finds 20% of Gen X Adults Invested in or Considering Crypto

Twenty percent of Gen X respondents in a 2026 U.S. survey said they were invested in or considering cryptocurrency. The share was 35% among millennials, 32% among Gen Z and 8% among Boomers+. The survey covered 4,375 U.S. adults age 18 or older from Jan. 5-21, 2026. Among respondents using or considering high-risk or speculative assets, 73% said they felt financially behind and believed those assets offered a faster route to their goals. The figure was 80% among Gen Z; the measure covered high-risk or speculative assets generally.
