Stellar’s Project Thruput Benchmark Records 7.02 Million Payments per Second

Stellar Development Foundation has put Project Thruput on FutureNet as a technology preview, with its benchmark recording 7.02 million payments per second across eight machines in one validator. The one-machine result was 1.18 million payments per second. These figures measure transaction execution within a validator; they do not measure consensus or end-to-end performance across the Stellar network. The tests ran RV32 ERC-20 transfers among 100 accounts under heavy contention. Each reported figure was the middle result from three trials using AWS r8a.16xl machines.
