Stablecoin reserve audits have become a central method for assessing the backing and transparency of token issuers, providing external verification of whether stablecoins are fully supported by eligible assets at a given point in time. These reviews often compare reported token supply to the reserve assets, but they are not always full financial audits and their scope affects the depth and breadth of information users can rely on. When conducting a reserve audit, the issuer provides an independent accountant with data on tokens in circulation and the backing assets.
