Solana (SOL) Activates Alpenglow, Targeting 150 ms Finality

Solana's consensus layer changed hands on 2026-10-21, when Votor, the voting component of the Alpenglow protocol, went live on mainnet at epoch 1064. The component replaces TowerBFT, which left a transaction reversible for roughly 12.8 seconds after approval.
