Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are projected to post $139.1 billion in combined third-quarter operating profit, putting the South Korean chipmakers’ earnings outlook in focus ahead of results this week. Samsung disclosed preliminary third-quarter operating profit of $80.17 billion on Oct. 8. Analysts estimate SK Hynix’s results will bring the combined figure to $139.1 billion. Rising demand for AI chips and higher memory prices are supporting expectations for a strong quarter. Analysts also estimate SK Hynix revenue at 98.2 trillion won. SK Hynix is scheduled to release its results Wednesday, Oct. 28, followed by Samsung Thursday, Oct.
