Russia has introduced new electricity supply rules requiring cryptocurrency mining farms to accept lower-priority power connections, allowing authorities to disconnect their facilities during shortages while protecting electricity supplies for households and other consumers. Russia has limited cryptocurrency mining grid connections to Category 4 reliability under government Resolution 1300. Mining farms face priority electricity cuts during shortages as authorities seek to protect other consumers. The October 6 decree covers cryptocurrency mining facilities, mining pools, and companies operating mining infrastructure.
