As of Oct. 15, Bitcoin (BTC) long-term holders had an average unrealized gain of about 64%, compared with about 9% for recent buyers, leaving the newer group with a thinner profit cushion. Long-term holders’ average cost basis was about $49,300, compared with $74,400 for recent buyers. The comparison adds context to an earlier analysis of long-term holders’ unrealized-profit buffer . A further decline in Bitcoin’s price could bring greater selling pressure from recent buyers. Enna Lee reports on investing and digital-asset markets for TokenPost.
