A new Polymarket CFTC probe is examining whether the company kept to its 2022 settlement. The inquiry covers both the offshore exchange and the licensed US platform. A soldier’s alleged insider bets have become a test case for Polymarket’s geographic controls. No enforcement action has been announced, and Polymarket says its controls block restricted users. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission is investigating whether Polymarket broke the January 2022 settlement in which it promised to keep American users off its offshore prediction market, Reuters reported on October 27 , citing two people familiar with the matter.
