Pirate Chain plans a network upgrade and hard fork beginning at the block before an unauthorized mint of about 39.8 million ARRR, an issuance that increased supply by roughly 20%. The project has not announced a block height or activation date. A transaction-validation flaw discovered Oct. 14 let an issuance check be bypassed and output scripts be interpreted incorrectly. The newly created ARRR entered the Sapling shielded pool, and their later movement cannot be tracked in full. The proposal followed an initial notice that set a rollback target of Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC).
