Pi Network Confirms Protocol 28 Mainnet Upgrade Completed Oct. 16

Pi Network confirmed Oct. 22 that its Mainnet completed the Protocol 28 upgrade six days earlier. The upgrade improves delayed transaction-data handling and supports grouped smart-contract updates and safer changes to stored application data. Protocol 28 lets developers update groups of smart contracts together and change stored application data more safely. The network had set Oct. 16 as the transition date, after giving node operators an Oct. 13 software deadline. Mainnet still appeared as “under upgrade” on its Oct. 16 target date , before the network confirmed completion six days later.
