OpenZeppelin Releases Stellar Token Contracts With Privacy Limits

OpenZeppelin has released audited token contracts for Stellar that use UltraHonk proofs to verify operations, but the current verifier does not guarantee balance or amount privacy. The Confidential Token package, included in OpenZeppelin’s Stellar library v0.8.0, wraps an existing SEP-41 token. Users deposit tokens into the contract, make confidential transfers and can later withdraw the underlying tokens. Sender and recipient addresses remain visible. The current verifier accepts a non-zero-knowledge form of UltraHonk proofs. As a result, the implementation cannot guarantee that balances and transfer amounts stay private on Stellar.
