OpenAI lets US Pro users text their Dots through iMessage and RCS

ChatGPT's always-on AI agents can now take tasks via text, photos and voice notes from a phone's native messaging app OpenAI ’s AI agents now have a phone number, or something close to one. US ChatGPT Pro users can message their Dots through iMessage or RCS, the same channels they already use to text friends, family and the group chat that never stops. The update, announced on October 28, 2026, takes Dots out of the ChatGPT app and drops them into the default messaging inbox. Dots are OpenAI’s proactive, always-on AI agents.
