OpenAI said it has acquired Orchestra Bio, a move it says will bring AI-powered operations into life sciences research and development and help biopharma teams accelerate drug development and advance new treatments. In its Oct. 20, 2026 announcement, OpenAI said Orchestra Bio’s team and technology will be combined with Rosalind, OpenAI’s life-sciences AI platform. The company did not provide financial terms in the material supplied. The acquisition is positioned around operational workflows in drug development rather than consumer-facing AI products.
