Ontology resumed block production at about 5:57 a.m. ET (09:57 UTC) on Oct. 12 after halting its mainnet for roughly 41 hours over a security incident involving an unidentified ecosystem project. The pause began at about 12:43 p.m. ET (16:43 UTC) on Oct. 10, when Ontology coordinated with most of its consensus nodes to stop new blocks after receiving an urgent security report. Ontology said its core infrastructure remained safe and that no funds were lost from the network itself.
