Old Republic CEO Says Warranty Premiums Could Reach $600 Million to $700 Million

Old Republic International Corporation CEO Craig Smiddy said net annual premium for the warranty business could reach $600 million to $700 million within a few years, but he did not specify the target’s exact scope. “Looking at it on a net basis, $600 million, $700 million in the next few years isn’t out of the question, and even higher,” Smiddy said during Old Republic’s Oct. 22 earnings call. He clarified that he meant annual premium, not new premium written each year, and presented the range as a possibility rather than formal guidance.
