The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission built a five-year sandbox to put NMS stocks on blockchains. Twenty-two of the country’s biggest public companies have now told the first venue inside that sandbox, OKXICE, that they want no part of it. The objection list, disclosed in the venue’s public notice dated October 23, 2026 , has more than doubled in the past week and now spans Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Cisco and Broadcom. What began as a regulatory experiment is becoming a live test of whether listed companies actually want their shares tokenized by someone else.
