Oil Trader Loses Nearly $15 Million as Crude Futures Fall More Than 8%

An oil trader on Hyperliquid added nearly $15 million in losses in less than two days as crude futures fell more than 8%, bringing the account’s cumulative net loss to about $16 million. The account, identified by the address prefix 0x0cc1, had a cumulative net loss of about $16.02 million, including current unrealized losses. Its losses increased by about $14.92 million over the period. As prices fell, the trader added about $9.52 million in margin, then closed its West Texas Intermediate (WTI) long position and trimmed its Brent long.
